The multi-omics signature of aging.

Chronological age is a major risk factor for disability, chronic diseases and mortality. However, individuals with the same chronological age often exhibit marked differences in their health status and risk of developing age-related diseases and mortality. It is thought that different rates of biological aging could account for the rate at which people age and develop diseases of ‘old age’. By analyzing and integrating extensive data from different large epidemiological studies, in this project we aim to identify which genetic, molecular and environmental factors could influence the rate of biological aging.
